re-purpose them.
I TOLD YOU I WOULD LET YOU KNOW HOW THE COCONUT OIL AND POLY WORKED OUT. WELL, IT WORKED OUT JUST FINE. As my good friend, Patrice suggested, I put the coconut oil on to bring out the color a bit and basically, give the woods some life by giving it a "drink", as it was so dry! after about a day or two, I wiped it down with a clean cloth to get any pieces of the coconut oil that may have lingered. I then put about 3 coats of poly over the top, lightly sanding in between coats. Here is another little trick I tried here...there were a couple of pieces of the wood that were very rough, and I mean rough where it could have been a major sliver, so I just took the poly and put a large amount, almost a glob in that area to try and fill in the wood so that someone's hand couldn't catch it. Guess what....the poly dried clear and after doing this a few times in those areas, it is smooth like glass! POOF...NO SLIVERS WILL BE HAD AT THIS TABLE!

| This is the Polycrylic that I used. The coconut oil I found at the grocery store. |
I left the ACTUAL AGE marks alone, because they look cool and give it awesome character!
I had these chairs that I bought a few years ago for $5 each at an estate sale and just refinished them and my mom helped me with the seats. I was never a home economics wiz in the sewing department! Those of you who remember the 7th grade gym duffel bag we had to sew, it took me, like 8 tries. I still have it and will post later for a throwback memory.
I am so happy that I finally just said to myself "self" use what you have. You don't always have to buy "new" to make it look fabulous. It can look Re-FAB-u-lous!
Also, keep in mind I'm not a professional, so you may see arms and legs in some of my photos. We do really use this stuff!!!
